Singing Bird Box
The classic Singing Bird Box in highly polished wooden case with gilded oval lid. When operated the lid opens automatically and the bird appears, singing a beautiful song, turning side to side and flapping its wings. At the end of the song the bird disappears into the box as the lid closes. The clockwork mechanism is contained within the box and is a diminutive precision version of that found in larger singing bird cages. The Swiss maker Reuge is known for their high quality music box mechanisms and made this bird around 40 to 50 years ago. Complete with key and presentation case. Size 120 x 75 x 40mm.
