Drummer Sand Toy
A rare model Sand Toy of a Drummer. France, circa 1870. In excellent original condition. Turning the glazed wooden box to the right loads the sand inside the box and causes the Drummer to play. The sand falls onto a pinned wheel inside causing it to turn and powering the automaton. The picture is very high quality and the drumming action features a different strike rate for each hand.
