Gilded bird cage with two singing birds. The clockwork mechanism causing each feathered bird to sing in turn with movements of the beak, head and bird side to side.
Made by Reuge in Switzerland who are famous for their fine Music Boxes, the traditional clockwork and leather bellows power a complex mechanism to produce the song and move the birds with perfect timing and clear birdsong.
Reuge have a justly proud reputation for high quality and this example is in excellent condition with no faults and the original gilded finish.
