Rabbit in a Cabbage c.1890

Roullet & Decamps “Rabbit in a Cabbage” musical automaton. Made in Paris by this famous maker in circa 1890. The shy rabbit rises slowly out of the Cabbage, looks around, chewing a leaf and twitching its ears, the rabbit then peers over the edge, then darts back down into the Cabbage.  A very popular R&D subject and rarely available to buy.
The clockwork mechanism has a stop/start button and steel bow key. The House of Automata guarantee working order for this antique automaton for three years.
