Vichy Clown Gets New Head
For an Acrobat that came to us without a Head.
The new head is copied in clay from an original Vichy of the same model. Here the clay is prepared for a plaster mould to be made. The mould will be used to create a papier mache head which will be gessoed and painted. The new head will be fitted with glass eyes of the correct quality.
The first part of the mould making process is to make a fence in clay at the line where the two halves will join. The picture shows the head ready for the front of the mould to be poured.
